Black, Black, Black

In 2019, I sat down with Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Lindsay Peoples Wagner, for our conversation at Fashion for Breakfast LA. I asked her ‘did you always know this is what you wanted to do?’ and her response was ‘I’m Black, Black, Black. I did not think this was possible.’

This sums up my feelings about Black History Month. A reminder of possibilities.

While we celebrate black history all year. We can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy during February because it’s our time to shine extra bright. Did you know that Black History Month began as “Negro History Week” and thanks to Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African American figures, it blossomed into a national celebration every February since 1976.

This month, we’re sharing the stories and perspectives of black creators around the world that are paving the way in fashion, design, culinary arts and more. Stay tuned to our Instagram for upcoming takeovers plus features here on our journal.

Sincerely,

A loud. proud. black female creator.
